Last week Benny worked onset for the CW (CBS) pilot “Cheerleader Death Squad“.
Benny arrived the location around 6:00am for an early start day and he was thrilled to be able to work with the lead actor Alan van Sprang, as well as other very talented actors on the show. He enjoyed the experience very much and would love to be able to return to the show should opportunity presents itself.
This Public Service Announcement video was done by Ontario Government as part of the action plan to stop sexual violence and harassment when you see it. This video, upon releasing to general public, was tweeted by the Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and major media outlets and soon became viral both on social media and on YouTube. In this video, Benny portrayed a teenager who deliberately and inappropriately shared girlfriend’s photos with friends.
Above the video is a screenshot of the page which was updated on Ontario Provincial Government’s website on March 6, 2015, urging everyone to join the conversation #WhoWIllYouHelp.
Benny just landed a role in the CBS upcoming “Cheerleader Death Squad” pilot, which, according to several reports, is an action-adventure mystery-drama that will be co-written by Marc Cherry, Neal Baer and Blue Bloods executive producer Daniel Truly. Marc Cherry is a writer and producer, known for Desperate Housewives(2004), Devious Maids (2013) and The Golden Girls (1985). Neal Baer is a producer and writer, known for Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999), ER (1994) and Under the Dome (2013).
It is certainly a wonderful opportunity for Benny to work with those great talents in the business!
Benny will be playing a Chinese student who is “very intelligent” as described in the breakdown. 🙂
Benny landed a role in the upcoming PSA (Public Service Announcement) commercial for Ontario Women’s Directorate.
It is interesting to find out that the director for this project is Bruce McDonald, with whom Benny worked in the TV series XIII Season 2 – Berzerk in 2013. 🙂
Benny will be on set shooting for this commercial on Sunday, Feb. 8th in Toronto.
It was May 24th, 2013, a windy and cold night in Toronto. Benny arrived on location for KFC commercial shooting around 6:30pm. He was taken in for wardrobe shortly and went on set for blocking, preparing for the shoot later at night.
There was sun then, but the temperature had dropped and it was cold. But the scene was set for a hot summer night KFC dinner party on a family patio, so all cast were dressed in summer outfit on set. Well, it’s not fun when it’s so cold and you have to dress little though. But actors are all professionals. So is Benny. 🙂
When they were waiting for the camera to roll, they had blankets wrapping around to keep warm, but when it’s time to shoot, they all got the blankets off and smiled, ate and chatted as if they were having a lot of fun, except, their jokes at the table were all about how cold it was and how they could get through this coldness in summer outfit :p .
Benny had ate a couple of drum sticks during the filming, weren’t the greatest freshly made ones but it’s work ;). By 1:30am he was wrapped for the night. As he put on his hoodie and walked to the car, yawning, he said,”I will collapse as soon as I get in the car.”
And he did. He fell asleep crunching in the seat on the way home. 🙂
But it was still a fun night shooting!
Now let’s wait to see what the commercial looks on TV!
